It all started with a mimosa soaked night (yes, we know it's a morning drink) when Eszter Glaser and I decided to create something breathtaking in the art of weaving. After many hours of daydreaming and researching, we are happy to present to you What the Rug, the collection of sophisticated, contemporary handwoven wall art.
Traditionally all the flat-woven rug patterns are geometric, rhythmically repetitive, or mirrored. That's why it was an exciting challenge to find a new point of view in this art form. It may seem that my specific, rectangular designs are easily adaptable for weaving, but the irregular shapes and not repetitive patterns require a considerable amount of concentration, precision, and planning. We work with Erika Csobán, a true master of weaving, who has the required technical skills to create the best quality.
To be fair is extremely important to WTR : Not only in terms of trading but also fabrication. WTR products are handwoven in a small Hungarian village with high-quality European cotton yarns. These items are designed to last forever.
The rugs are made for preorder in 4 different patterns.
